The light transmittance of the fused silica tube is basically the same as that of the optical quartz plate. The biggest difference is what method is used to generate its optical properties. The quartz tube has already formed a specific transparency when it comes out of the furnace, and the quartz glass plate reaches its optical properties through a series of subsequent processes. Therefore, the optical properties of the quartz plate can form different optical levels according to the different processing methods.
The design purpose of the quartz tube is mainly to meet the optical characteristics of the UV lamp. If used as a lampshade, the finish can usually be 60/40. This can effectively achieve the bactericidal effect.
During the deep processing of the quartz tube, scratches or collapse points are often left on the surface of the quartz tube. At this time, we fired the quartz tube as a whole to restore the surface to a completely transparent state. But this still has a small impact on the light transmission of the surface. Therefore, when using quartz tubes to produce quartz glass products for optical purposes, we still try to minimize surface scratches or damage to avoid repairs again.
