What is the difference between integrated and bonded quartz UV 96-well microplates?

1. The difference between manufacturing method and processing difficulty.

Quartz integrated porous board is much more difficult to make than plywood, so the cost of the two will also vary. The first step in fabricating a Quartz UV 96-well microplate is to CNC drill holes into the chosen quartz plate material.

The holes of the Quartz Glued Microplate are first drilled through, and then the entire miroplate and bore are fire polished. After fire polishing is complete, a cut quartz glass plate is glued together with a special glue. So the upper part of the Quartz Glued Microplate you see is transparent, and the sides of the bottom quartz plate are frosted. The sides of the one-piece orifice plate are all frosted. This is also the separation performance between our Quartz Glued Microplate and Quartz Integrated Microplate.

The holes for the Quartz Integrated Microplate were initially successfully drilled with a CNC. At this point, the sidewalls and bottom of the hole are frosted. The next step is to manually cold polish each hole. Such working hours can be imagined. At the same time, there is also the risk of damage caused by improper operation.

A simple summary is that the inner hole of the Quartz Integrated Microplate is completely hand-cold polished, while the Quartz Glued Microplate is fired and polished, and a quartz plate is glued to the bottom.

2. Application Differences.

The main difference between the two types is the application, usually the glued type is suitable for applications that require high light transmittance, but it is not corrosion resistant and the price is relatively cheap.

The one-piece microplate type is mainly suitable for applications that require anti-corrosion (resistant to acid, alkali, organic solvent and other corrosive liquids), but now this type has been updated, not only corrosion-resistant, but also has very high permeability light rate.

The integrated type can also withstand high temperature (1200°C), and its service life is much longer than that of the glued type. Widely used in cell culture, core biological reagents, drug discovery, labware, PCR life science reagents, manufacturer browsers, research essentials and more.
